How to. . .

  • Troubleshoot a conference (union) director’s login
    • NOTE: if they’ve tried too many times and gotten locked out, the lockout will expire if they simply wait 20 minutes.
    • Dashboard->Users, search for their email address
    • Make sure they have the appropriate role(s)
    • Change their password
      • Edit the user, generate a new password and copy it.
      • If they have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, disable it.
      • Save the user.
      • In a completely separate browser (i.e. MS Edge, if you’re using Chrome), test their login with the new password to make sure it works.
      • Make sure they can see whatever it is that they need (i.e. reporting)
    • Email them the new password, mention that you’ve tested it and it works, and ask them to change it to something they’ll remember once they log back in.
    • If they report any additional difficulties, ask them to take a screenshot of any errors or weird stuff, and send it to Sharon.
  • Change details on TRAINING REQUEST FORM
    • Dashboard -> Custom Fields -> Events
      Find the field you want and edit it; be sure to click UPDATE at top right when finished.
  • Edit EVENT VENUE information
    • Dashboard -> Events -> Venues
  • Change photo in large block on pages like Conference Director Home
    • Edit the page (Dashboard -> Pages -> [page name]
    • Change the Featured Image (bottom right)
    • Update the page

Note to self: Check the url to determine if something is attached to Admin site (admin.childmin.org) or Public site (childmin.org)
